Random Favourites

I've been on dA for almost 5 years, and I have been favoriting art since then. I have a LOT of faves---however, as I got older and grew as an artist, so to did my perception of art change. I'm finding now that what used to be something worthy of being in my favorites just doesn't stand up to my standards anymore. That being said, it would be an impossible task to clean out my favorites now; and I'm also not going to stop faving. Therefore, there's some really awesome art in my faves and some not so awesome art. I ask that if you see something less than spectacular you not dismiss me as someone with lacking tastes---simply look at it as evidence of the ever changing reality in which we live. ;)

Critiques

I chose this piece to critique because I think it exhibits many of the things you are very good at. You have a decent sense of color. Y...

Wishlist

If I had the money to create a museum, these are pieces of art I would display there. Since that will never happen, I'll settle for hanging them on the walls of my home; however, I don't have money even for that, so until I do, here on the wishlist is where they shall stay.

Hey all.

I'm finally uploading my art from the end of last year. Most of it is from my print making class, but some is paintings I did on my own time. Sorry I haven't been around much.

Do you ever feel, like, creatively constipated? I have so many ideas and sources of inspiration but I'm so stressed out by the rest of my life (school, work) that when I finally have the time to sit down and paint I just get frozen and convince myself that I don't have the time or energy. Blah. Well. I know people have that problem... I guess what I should be asking is does anyone have a solution? Ha.

So my second semester at UALR went well. The highlight art wise was my printmaking class (all my other classes were core academic stuff). My teacher drove me nuts but I found the course itself fascinating. I had never before learned in depth about Relief, Lithography, and Intaglio. And it's easy enough to read the definitions... but I at least didn't fully comprehend the process till I had to do it, LOL. If anyone's interested I'll explain more but I know I haven't had enough of a presence here for people to read my journal anyway. Ha.

I'm a couple weeks into the new semester and so far so well. I'm taking Figure Drawing with the uber fabulous Stephen Cefalo. He doesn't have a dA page but for those of you brave enough to venture off into other parts of the internet, he is on facebook and if you google him I'm sure his other stuff will pop up too. He's like a master painter, but super humble, like he doesn't see himself like that at all. And he's a decent teacher which is rare among artists. LOL

I'm also taking ceramics. Now, I'm really weird when it comes to powdery things... I can't STAND the texture at all. So it's an odd combination of feelings. Working with the clay is fun and it's kind of a stress reliever, but as soon as it starts drying on my hands I have to wash it off LOL I'm a hot mess.

Okay well I guess I'll stop babbling. Just wanted to reconnect with my peeps on dA. Hope y'all are doing well.

Hmmmm... decisions, decisions.... I like frogs and butterflies. I've also been into small colorful birds lately... so it's kind of up to you which of those you'd like to do. I like blue, purple, and/or green. What can I paint for you?
