It's funny, I get both sides, I really do.
I don't think it's okay to attack someone for their opinion. I don't think dA is necessarily going against their policy (in this case, with the stamp) by leaving it up.
But I also don't think it's okay to live in fear, or be PROUD of it. And I also think that dA is, OVERALL, unfairly biased against art featuring explicit homosexual material.
Instead of trying to convince each other that we're wrong, or being stupid, or being hateful, why don't we instead reach out in love? "I'm sorry you were hurt, why don't we try to fix this together?"
But people are so happy being dysfunctional. People are happy living in fear. People are happy being hateful. People are happy as long as they have a group of people that they can point their finger at and say, "At least I'm not like them."
I'm talking about both sides here.
Think before you speak. Come from a place of love.
It's a hard and long journey to create change. But I believe that if we love each other (even the people we disagree with) and try to see it from each others perspective, not only can we come to a greater understanding of the situation but we can move into a space that may allow us to ACTUALLY help each other and create change.
I learned something from the opposing article; I think differently now than I did before.
But I still stand by what I have been saying. It's not healthy to live in fear. We should be lovingly helping each other to heal from our wounds and overcome our anxieties.
Inequality is intolerable.

I support the inherent worth and dignity of every person.Even the people I'm afraid of. Even the people who I disagree with. Even the people who have hurt me. Even the people who are different from myself.

Go in peace friends. We are all in this boat together.

I agree with the other side because one of the pictures used to defend boy love was very sexual in nature, more so than any of the pictures of the women masturbating. Instead of doing that themselves, it was simulated that another man was doing that which is nothing but sexual. So yes, I do agree with that being deleted. Homophobic is also not an appropriate term to be thrown around as I agree that there is a difference between a bigot and people who can't help being uncomfortable around people who are gay. At the same time, I DON'T think homophobia or bigotry should be something that you are proud of and it can be hurtful to others to display that publicly.
Still, no matter what, Deviantart is their site and not ours. The administration makes the rules and as long as they are within law, they can enforce whatever rules they want on whomever they want. Still, I would not wish the decision they will need to make on anyone as I'm sure they will lose members over this.
I read your comments on both and I wholeheartedly agree.
Also I was told that lots of the staff members are gay as well, and I see that DA is doing everything to proove that they are not homophobic in any way. We see DDs and features and that kind of stuff that deal with gays and their rights. DA never seemed like an anti-gay website to me.
So when there's a problem and people think differently, we should talk about that in a normal argument manner. The people who wrote the article both reacted very immature to every argument that went against their opinion.
