Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. At first I was planning on only writing from Spike's point of view, like, what he's experiencing during this separation period. I figured that since he's the main cha
Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.
A perfect example would be my OC's Medi-kate & Black Nova, both created from inspiration from music.

So like, OMG I haven't actually written a journal in MONTHS... so here you go, just to let you guys know that I'm not dead. X3

And I was really disappointed with the amount of art I did last year. :C Hopefully this year I'll do more and won't feel so sucky at new years of 2012.

BTW I don't think the world is going to end. It might get awfully close... but I think that's just 'cause the Universe has a sense of humor... and maybe people will realize how good they've got it if they come really close to loosing it all.

OMG I LOVE xxxholic. 8D I had no idea. I mean, yeah, it's a little trite, a little lacking in finishing touches and attention to detail, but sort of in the same way as MOST anime... I'm not too fond of the super elongated people, I understand it's their attempt at transferring CLAMP's latest style into anime but I don't feel it was successful (though the manga is beautiful). :/ The animation and direction itself is so-so... I guess what I like about it is what I like about most CLAMP stuff... the characters (cliche as they are) the thoughtfulness, I mean, Yuuko is a wacky character and totally exaggerated in terms of her sultriness and mysteriousness and all that, but if you actually listen to some of the concepts she talks about, it's not just fantasy. These are things that actually affect people all the time, we just don't realize it, we don't think that it's something we can control, we've convinced ourselves that it's just how life is. I wish that the story was MOSTLY that deep with moments of humor, as apposed to the %90 shallow humor with just a glimmer of something really valuable... :/ And I think that's what keeps this from reaching my top fave list, and I'm not sure the re-watch value is going to be really high when I'm done with it, but it's still decent and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes things that are spiritual, philosophical, or... CLAMP. LOL

PLUS I'M TOTALLY A WATANUKU/DOMEKI SHIPPER. SCREW HIMAWARI SHE HAS NO PERSONALITY ANYWAY. :P
